SEO and Your Business

With more people looking for products and services online it is has become essential for all business to have a website.

The days of finding a business using traditional methods such as the Yellow Pages are coming to an end. Online searching is prevalent across the age spectrum. In 2010 the 55-65 year age group were signing up faster for a Facebook account than any other.

Businesses use the web all the time to buy goods and services from other businesses, and with the advent of smartphone and tablet computing technology, finding a service offline is becoming rarer every day.

The website alone however is not enough to promote your business online. Consider:

• How will customers and clients find your website?
• How will customers and clients know your company exists?
• How will customers and clients know what you do?

If customers and clients cannot find your website on a search engine, they will not use your services.

Search engine optimisation (SEO) provides the answers to the above questions.

Benefits of SEO

A search engine optimised website will provide the following benefits:
• Page 1 position on Google for relevant keywords
• Increased traffic to the website thereby increasing the chance of:
o Selling a product or service
o Establishing your reputation as an expert in your field
o Attract new business
o Build lasting relationships with your client or customer base
o Brand reinforcement
o Gives you an edge over the competition

• Allows smaller business to compete with bigger companies in their industry

• SEO is still the number one traffic generator for business
