Vox, the soon to be no more social media site, has published ways in which you can transfer your blog to other platforms.  The thrust of the advice is to transfer the photos to Flickr, and the articles to Typepad.  Other platforms such as Wordpress are also available.  If you have a <a href="http://www.vox.com">blog on Vox</a>, it is worthwhile reading their guidelines, and take action accordingly.</p>
<p>The demise of Vox is somewhat sad. As a blogging platform they offered everything a good blogging platform should, sadly there was just not enough room in the market for their site.  It is a fair bet to say other Social Media sites will follow the same route.</p>
<p>Ironically, Vox has probably gained more exposure after the announcement that the site was closing, than it ever did when it was up and running.</p>

The social media site Vox, has announced it has reached the end and will be closing forever in a months time. Is the well called Social Media, drying up?</p>
<p>If you think about  Social Media sites you will be hard pushed to think of ten. I work in the industry and I&#8217;m struggling to think of nine.<br />
There was nothing wrong with Vox, it was just that there was no space in the industry for another Social Media site.</p>
<p>The industry is overcrowded and many Social Media sites have the same features as many others.</p>
<p>Unlike SEO, there is no room to manoeuvre for a social media site. There is no one to one engagement with a customer. There is little scope to offer anything new, and many Social Media sites offer sign up, complete your profile and tell us what you&#8217;re doing.  The word &#8220;us&#8221; is used very loosely as most of the people who become friends, followers, fanatics already know you through Twitter.</p>
<p>This is probably why Vox failed to compete, it offered little and subsequently, received little.</p>
<p>Tonight I shall drink to Vox, and though I never signed up to your site, and to be honest I&#8217;d never heard of you until now, I feel a certain kinship with you as I too sometimes feel like closing my doors on my overcrowded market.</p>

<p>From a search engine optimisation perspective, which will play  a big part in our marketing campaign, we have two options:</p>
<p>Look for additional keywords, or start from scratch.  We favour start from scratch as we fear we may miss an obvious one in the long run.<br />

They provide good stable links which add to a PR rating considerably.  An article submission link tends to stay active for a long time too.</p>
<p>The aim of the article is to be published on an article submission site, where hopefully you will be able to insert anchor text, which best practise dictates will feature  your keywords.  Not all sites offer a facility to insert anchor text. Do not be disheartened by this, as the article will still serve to improve your online presence.</p>
<p>To ensure your article will be published on an article submission site, ensure you comply with the following</p>
<p>- Make sure you comply with the publishing rules of the article submission site. Pay close attention to elements such as titles, word counts, and links.</p>
<p>-Articles have to be about a subject otherwise they will be classed as spam and rejected.  Think of an article as having a beginning, middle, and end. This will help you create and structure the article.</p>
<p>-You cannot duplicate articles but you can rewrite them. This involves more than changing a word or two, but involves writing the article from scratch. Remember many article submission sites will run an article through copyscape to check duplication, and subsequently, a changed word or two will result in failure.<br />
Tips for rewriting:<br />
-Keep in mind your subject  matter<br />
-Shift perspective slightly. A change of perspective maybe all you need to rewrite your article.<br />
-Rewriting can be a dull experience, so take a break or two.<br />
-Ensure the article is rewritten from scratch.</p>
<p>-Write articles for a reader. Try and  produce copy that is interesting, informative, and engaging.</p>
<p>-Ensure your articles read well. Try and create a natural flow to your articles as this will make them easier and more pleasurable to read.</p>
<p>-Insert anchor text if you can</p>
<p>-Insert keywords into your articles, especially into the title.  Ensure above all else that the natural flow and readability remains intact. An unpublished article has no value.</p>
<p>-To avoid spam issues submit no more than four articles per week. Remember article submissions can be combined with press releases. We aim to publish four articles and two press releases a week for link campaigns.</p>
<p>-Be patient. Link building is a long and slow process, so don&#8217;t expect immediate results.</p>
